The Coins of Great Britain
Our friends across the ocean have a very long history of coin production and a mastery of the art to match it. We offer our customers the Great Britain proof sets as well as 3 different coins each year, these include the renowned Silver Britannia, the Gold Britannia and the Gold One Sovereigns and the Gold Half Sovereigns. Each of these coins are extremely popular with collectors but unfortunately the British Royal Mint limits production of these beautiful coins and they inevitably become impossible to find by the end of the year. It is a good thing the new year's production starts early in the year, before American's have spent all their tax refunds!

Silver Britannias
Detail shot of the 2007 Britannia £2 Silver BullionSince her debut on the gold coinage, Britannia has appeared in varying poses and now, in 2007, a new Britannia joins her sisters. Designed by Christopher Le Brun, the new portrait remains faithful to her character, giving her a more contemporary air yet still associating her with symbols of Britain. With a watchful lion at her feet, she sits at the seashore, her hair streaming in the sea breeze, her love of peace symbolized in the sprig of olive clasped in her left hand and her trident and shield recalling her great maritime history. This year's design is extremely detailed and complex. One of the most complex designs in the Britannia series we have seen.

Gold Britannias
Britannia's were introduced in 1987, in four weights from one ounce to fractional sizes of half ounce, quarter ounce, and tenth ounce. Britannia's rank amongst the world's most beautiful bullion coins. Both proof and bullion versions have been issued every year from 1987, although most of the proof coins are only available as part of complete sets. Not all sizes are produced each year in the uncirculated versions.
Proof Sets
Containing five new coins, the Deluxe Proof Set of 2007 has proved to be one of the Mint’s most eagerly sought after collections of recent years. The Proof coins are featured in a sumptuous red leather presentation case and the set includes the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

Gold Sovereigns
The traditional St George & Dragon design has graced the gold sovereigns, with a few exceptions, since 1817. During this time, there have been a quite a few minor changes to the dies used for the coin's reverse. For the year 2007, the reverse design appears to have been completely re-engraved but there was no advance announcement that this was going to happen from the Royal Mint. Since the Sovereign series is the same from year to year, any change makes that particular year highly collectible and as such, commands higher prices in the secondary market.
